Remember last year Slack developer Felix Rieseberg released Windows 95 in the form of an electron app. The app allowed you to actually try out the original version of Bill Gates’ software. Rieseberg has now updated the Windows 95 app with gaming classics such as Doom and Wolfenstein3D for starters.
Most noteworthy is the addition of a web browser in the form of Netscape Navigator 2.0.
The latest version runs under Windows 10, macOS and Linux. It is now available at GitHub.
Launched on August 24, 1995, Windows 95 made a huge impact on the tech world by redefining home computing. In 1998, Microsoft grew to become the world’s biggest company riding on the success of Windows 95.
