Airbyte Acquires Grouparoo To Create Data Integration Standard

0

Airbyte, the open-source data integration platform, has acquired data synchronization service Grouparoo to accelerate data movement. Grouparoo has been building a reverse-ETL open source product used by hundreds of users.

As Michel Tricot, Co-Founder & CEO at Airbyte, puts it, the two companies had a similar vision for the future of data, just at different levels of the data stack. So they decided to join forces to create the standard for data integration and effectively power data movement.

As Grouparoo’s team understands the challenges of building a reverse-ETL solution, it will enable Airbyte to move data out of data warehouses into systems of action.

Tricot added that the two companies are working on offering a unique place in the open-source ecosystem where every data engineer, every analytics engineer, every data analyst can easily move data whether for analytics or operational use cases.
