AWS Joins Microsoft-Created .NET Foundation


Amazon Web Services (AWS), an company, has joined the .NET Foundation as a corporate sponsor. Associated with Microsoft, the .NET Foundation supports .NET open source in a number of ways. It was created in 2014 to foster open development and collaboration around the growing collection of open source technologies for .NET.

If this post is anything to go by, becoming a corporate sponsor will cost AWS $50,000 annually.

AWS said it has a decade of experience running Microsoft Windows and .NET on AWS. By joining the foundation, AWS aims to to further invest and participate in this community.

While supporting the future of .NET, AWS said the company will continue to listen to the customer, increase investments, and make contributions to the community.

Microsoft, Google, Red Hat, JetBrains, Unity, Samsung, Pivotal, Insight, and Telerik are among the other companies that are part of the .NET Foundation Corporate Sponsor Program.
