We live in a world of cyber-physical systems. They are everywhere: power grids, water distribution systems, oil & gas, manufacturing. Closer to home, Tesla cars are great examples of such systems. These systems bring the software and mechanical world together. What makes these systems more efficient and modern – Software – also exposes them to threats traditional systems don’t have to worry about. Cyber-attacks. Given the nature of these systems, the stakes are much higher than typical online services. They pose a direct and real danger to physical property and lives. What are these risks? How secure are these systems? We sat down with Ron Nixon, VP Global Defense at Polyverse to deep dive into the threats to these systems and what mechanisms are there to protect them.
