Leaked iOS 14 code inadvertently revealed some details about the iPhone 9, Apple’s next affordable phone as well as the upcoming iPad Pro, said a report by 9to5Mac.
According to the the latest Apple leak, the iPhone 9 will feature the Touch ID biometric login sensor found in Apple’s higher-end devices. It will also come equipped with Express Transit, enabling users to pay for public transit using their phone without a passcode.
The new iPhone 9 should be released this spring (barring any delays due to the coronavirus outbreak), the report added.
Apple is also reportedly working on the new iPad Pro models. The leak reveals that these models will feature a new triple-lens camera array like previous supply chain reporting has suggested. In a major update, this camera setup will offer a time-of-flight 3D sensor, a wide-angle lens, an ultra-wide lens, and a telephoto lens.
The leaked code also includes the existence of an upcoming AR (augmented reality) app for iOS 14. The app will allow users to get more information about places they visit via AR, the 9to5Mac report said.
