The National Basketball Association (NBA) has announced the launch of its own non-fungible token (NFT) initiative called “NBAxNFT” to showcase “all things intersecting basketball and Web3, including NFTs, gaming, and the metaverse.”

According to the official Twitter account of the project, NBAxNFT is being dubbed as the “official Web3 home for the NBA.” NBAxNFT also includes a Discord channel with 35,000+ members.

The 2022 Playoff NFTs are going to be released this weekend.

As reported by Bitcoin.com, the NBA’s Golden State Warriors recently announced the launch of a 2022 Playoff responsive NFT collection. The NBA is yet to reveal whether or not Dapper Labs or the Flow blockchain will be involved, although it did tweet mentioning the company.
