In April 2020, the Ponemon Institute conducted a global survey of IT and IT security professionals. The IBM funded report found that more than 53% of organizations had a data breach in the past two years, and about 34% of those were of criminal nature. What was even more worrisome was the fact that in most cases, patches were available, but they were not applied.
