Alluxio has roped in Rowan Scranage as vice president, global sales and business development to drive the company’s growth on a global scale. In his new role, Scranage will be reporting to Alluxio CEO Steven Mih.

Alluxio, the developer of open source data orchestration technology, is said to have witnessed a dramatic uptick in its user base deploying analytic and AI workloads to the cloud. Next, the company plans “to build a Go-To-Market team with Rowan at the helm to run both the sales organization and drive strategic partnerships with mega-cloud and compute-focused vendors,” Mih said.

Rowan joins Alluxio from Swedish AI startup Peltarion where he was chief revenue officer responsible for sales, marketing and the Go-To-Market strategy.

With 20 years of experience, Rowan has held senior management positions at leading B2B technology companies including Amdocs, Guavus (Thales), Mformation (Nokia) and Lucent.
