Snyk has acquired Swiss machine learning code review startup DeepCode for an undisclosed sum. With the acquisition, Snyk’s technology platform is expected to be advanced by integrating and building on DeepCode’s AI engine.

The acquisition comes hot on the heels of Snyk’s recent announcement of a $200 million Series D investment and valuation of $2.6 billion.

DeepCode is an ETH Zurich spin-off founded by leading machine learning and programming languages researchers. DeepCode’s AI platform is claimed to blend advanced machine learning algorithms and semantic analysis which makes scanning of code lightning-fast and incredibly accurate.

DeepCode’s technology is likely to advance Snyk’s security platform, including open source security, container security and infrastructure as code security, using integrated machine learning-based intelligence to help developers identify vulnerabilities.

Snyk added that the acquisition builds on a year of extraordinary growth, including more than 275% revenue growth and 100% employee growth. The company plans to continue with its expansion and product innovation with the addition of the DeepCode team and technology.

The deal is expected to close within two months.
