As the U.S. Space Force is all set to be 6,700 persons strong, the military branch has emphasized on digital fluency for all of its employees.

According to a report by Federal News Network, leaders of the U.S.’s newest military branch require all its employees to pass a minimum level of training to prove their knowledge, skills and capabilities.

Air Force Maj. Gen. Kim Crider, the mobilization assistant to the chief of Space Operations, is reportedly working on “a core set of knowledge and training activities” that each and every member of the Space Force will be required when it comes to digital.

Space Force was signed into law Dec. 20, 2019 as part of the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act. The military branch is currently operating with the aid of 16,000 airmen and civilians detailed temporarily from what was formerly known as Air Force Space Command.

The U.S. Space Force has plans to offer around 6,000 of those temporary personnel the opportunity to formally transfer into the branch by the end of this year.
