StorCentric Buys Violin Systems

StorCentric has acquired Violin Systems, a software-defined all flash storage solutions company. The acquisition expands the StorCentric portfolio to now cover all enterprise workload demands.

With an ability to offer performance on commodity infrastructure, the Violin Systems portfolio of all-flash NVMe SSD-based architecture, expands StorCentric’s all-flash offerings.

Enterprise customers will now be able to address any performance, scale and economic needs of their diverse workloads with the all-flash storage portfolio.

Violin’s acquisition of X-IO technologies adds space efficiency with de-duplication and proactive monitoring. This technology has been integrated into Violin’s offerings for over 18 months.

StorCentric will continue to invest in Violin’s all-flash technology development with the goal of achieving products offerings that align with its customers’ changing needs from traditional workloads, to emerging AI/ML environments, to shifting IT operational models.
