Two Intel senior executives said they are leaving the company—surprise departures that come hot on the heels of another round of executive leadership changes last month. Praveen Vishakantaiah, VP of Client Architecture and Innovation since 2018, and Imad Sousou, corporate vice president of System Software Products, have decided to step down after a career of 25+ years at Intel.

“Done with a rich experience ridden Intel journey. Thanks to a number of people who helped me learn, grow and impact the business for 25+ years! Energized to move onward and forward…,” Vishakantaiah said in a statement.

Sousou, the founder of the Intel Open-Source Technology Center, has been at the helm of the company’s open-source efforts for nearly two decades now. He was responsible for the company’s efforts in open source, system firmware and BIOS, operating systems, data-centric infrastructure system software such as orchestration, virtualization, runtimes, security software, and big data analytics.

Sousou announced: “I’ve decided to leave Intel. I am honored to have built the Intel Open Source Technology Center (OTC) with the most brilliant engineers and leaders. I love the people and projects,..”

Moreover, Intel has also announced the appointment of Karen Walker as new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and senior vice president, effective Oct. 23. Walker will oversee Intel’s global marketing group and be responsible for strengthening Intel’s brand, supporting growth strategies.
