What Is OpenVSCode Server and What Problem It Tries To Solve?

OpenVSCode Server makes it possible for developers to use the latest VS Code in a standard browser. Although the VS Code team has made it such that the product can be run within a browser/server context, they haven’t released the source for it. The developers of Gitpod decided to create it such that it could be expanded and other IDEs used in the same way (they are currently working with JetBrains on integrating their IDE).
